PROJECT: Logo to promote Shiritori tee shirts. The concept is based on a Japanese word game called shiritori, which involves taking the end of a word and creating a new word from it. "Shiri" means "end" and "tori" means "take".
The logo being a bird's behind is a play on homophones. "Tori" can also be translated as "bird" and "shiri" can also be translated as "butt." It isn't grammatically correct, but the concept and all of the shirt designs were well received in Japan, where wordplay is a large part of the humor and cuteness is a cultural force.
